This time our journey is still around discussion about good eating places and a casual coffee place. The choice still exists in East Java, an eastern province of Java, and the city we choose is Pasuruan a town east of Surabaya, the capital of East Java Province. Actually still confused also when determining the culinary destinations in Pasuruan City, because frankly we are still blind to the culinary map in Pasuruan. What we have in mind is there is only famous food in Pasuruan for example ” sambelan rice” typical Pasuruan, and by chance the day has been running night so we are just looking for a place to drink coffee, “hotshot coffee”.
Finally did not wait long, we headed toward the city, we found a place visited by many young people, coffee shops around me. We stopped and tried to enjoy the time while sitting relaxed in place. The location is quite comfortable, especially if we choose a place on the roadside with a base of bamboo on the side of the road. The name of the place is “Angkringan Kutho”.
Not sure why also called Angkringan Kutho, could be because it is in the middle of Pasuruan so that the owner gave the name angkringan with the name “Angkringan Kutho“.
To visit this angkringan very easy and easy, located on Jl. Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo (Front of carton factory), Pasuruan City. As the name implies, according to our estimates, the concept created is a relaxing seat for young people. This is similar to the initial concept of Angkringan, which is Angkringan, is a name that means sitting relaxed. (Angkringan – derived from the Java language ‘Angkring’ which means sitting relaxed).
If you look at angkringan kutho this really serves as a gathering place for young people, in accordance with the concept of angkringan actually, the position of the place was also provided outside with bamboo stand as a pedestal, but also provided mats and carpets to sit.
Likewise with places to make drinks and renderers of food made specifically different from angkringan in general as in the original city of Jogjakarta. If angkringan is usually a wheelbarrow used to sell a variety of foods and beverages. But in Angkringan Kutho this is made with a basket shape that shoulder, which is used to make drinking and serving food.
Seeing the food served and the cake there, it seems Angkringan Kutho is more in concept just for a casual place, so the food is there, served as a complementary place for coffee, in addition to this place also provided roasted corn.
When we arrived too, some of the food was running out, so we just ordered drinks, like coffee and drink hang out. We ordered “coffee joss” … charcoal coffee, which is said to be able to reduce the aroma of caffeine in the coffee content especially coupled with coffee too hot water. There are some foods and beverages presented that can be a culinary choice when visiting here.
So, that was a bit of our journey in Angkringan Kutho Pasuruan. Which may be the choice of hangout when stopping in Pasuruan.
