"We want to thank you for the wonderful gift you have given us, Alexandra. And we are thrilled to tell the world that he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens."
Welcome Little Baby to the World
How sweet is that? Teigen also shared more details about her journey with IVF and surrogacy—and her ongoing longing for four children.
"As far back as I can remember, I've always wanted four kids," she wrote. "When I was a child, there were two fireflies and two stuffed cabbage constantly in my arms, helping me stir in my pretend kitchen, watching a thousand with me. We slept together every night, each getting the same amount of kisses so the other wouldn't be jealous My mom was always looking for a Pound Puppy with 4 puppies in her pod, and she didn't hesitate to open up and look inside before buying.

Teigen, who shares daughters Luna, 7, and Este, 5 months, and son Miles, 5, with husband John Legend, I lost a baby named Jack in October 2020, which inspired her to do fertility experiments.
A Moving Process
"After losing Jack, I don't think I'll be able to have another child of my own," she wrote, adding that she "personally blocked" many memories during that time. "But one vivid memory was surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I never experienced that pain and loss again."
Teigen and Legend contacted a surrogate agency in 2021, asking about having two tandem surrogate mothers "to bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Somewhat twins?!"
But then, after undergoing therapy sessions, she realized that she wanted to try to get pregnant again. "If it doesn't work, we'll be fine," he wrote. "We've seen the worst. I promise it will be fine no matter what. I remember saying that I can't keep wondering for the rest of my life if I should try again."
So she brought back the IVF process – "the same process that gave us beautiful Luna and Miles" – and created new embryos. They did the transfer, and I became pregnant with Esti. "We are thrilled to know it worked," he wrote.
But at the same time, they still want to continue the surrogacy process. They met "the most incredible, loving, loving, and loving surrogate mother we ever imagined, Alexandra."
Teigen said, "I knew he was a good match for us when we talked to him. All our desires and dreams are aligned. I want to be his friend, I want our kids to play, I want to have dinner together, I want to put my head on his stomach and be able to feel his hiccups and kicks." I want them in our lives as long as time permits."
Unfortunately, the first embryo they tried with Alexandra did not survive. But he has undergone surgery to remove scarring and more to prepare for the experiment again.
"We didn't want to speed up the process, we took a breath and... we were just patient," Teigen recalled. "I lay down, enjoying my first trimester, certainly with a little trepidation, unlike other pregnant couples. As we crept towards my pregnancy safe zone, we were thrilled to learn Alexandra had conceived a boy. Our boy. We ate a bowl."
