iPhone 14 Emergency SOS Feature, First Happened in Italy

Even rescue using the iPhone 14's SOS Emergency feature via satellite is the first thing to do in Italy.

Earlier in March, Apple had expanded the feature to six countries, including Australia, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Italy.

Launching from Apple Insider, these two climbers are climbing in the Apennines Mountains in Italy. However, they had turned around in an area without a signal on the cellphone making it difficult to communicate.

Luckily the iPhone 14 they use gives the option to ask for help via text message via satellite. They were eventually rescued by a team of local firefighters.

Local Italian media Corriere Della Sera said the case was the first example of the SOS Emergency feature via satellite used in Italy for rescue.

A similar incident occurred in May, where Apple's Emergency SOS feature played a key role in rescuing 10 climbers who got lost in the Santa Paula Canyon area.

Then in June, a passerby used the feature to call for help after a footpath collapsed underneath, injuring him with an ankle.

So still hesitant to choose and use an iPhone? Hopefully, the information about "iPhone 14 became the savior of climbers lost in the Apennines Mountains in Italy" gives confidence to you in choosing the best smartphone.
