There is an interesting and unique event, namely the "Snail Racing World Championship in England". The snail racing event that returned last weekend in the UK entered the Guinness World Record as the longest-running snail racing world championship.

The Snail Racing World Championship in Congham, England, was held again on Saturday (07/08/2023) after being suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Snail Racing World Championship in England was initiated by Tom Elwes
This event was initiated by Tom Elwes in the 1960s after he entered a snail racing event in France.

upi.com, Guinness World Records has now named the annual event as the longest-running snail racing world championship. The race features snails attempting to cover a distance of 13 inches.
The 22-second world record was set by a snail named Archie in 1995.
The main prize in the race is lettuce in a container.
