In the West Zone Playoff match at KSU Stadium, Al Nassr who fielded Anderson Talisca, Sadio Mane, and Ronaldo up front played aggressively from the first minute.
Talisca gave Al Nassr a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute after heading Marcelo Brozovic's ball home. Al Nassr after taking the lead was instead pressured by Al Ahli.

The result in the 17th minute, Al Ahli equalized the score through Yahya Al Ghassani's kick forwarding his partner's pull pass from the right side.
The 1-1 score lasted until halftime. Entering the second half, Al Ahli turned 2-1 ahead through Al Ghassani's second goal in the 46th minute.
Al Ghassani stabbed in from the left flank past an Al Nassr defender before beating Nawaf Alaqidi with a close-range shot.
Trailing by one goal, Al Nassr tried to suppress Al Ahli's defense. However, several times the chances obtained by Talisca, Ronaldo, and Brozovic always failed to become goals.
Al Nassr, who was almost frustrated and on the verge of failing to qualify for the group phase, instead equalized the score in the 88th minute. Sultan Al Ghannam made the home crowd cheer after heading Ayman Yahya's crossing ball from the left side which became a goal.
Talisca scored Al Nassr's second goal in the 96th minute to give his team another 3-2 lead. Yahya again became a passer through a cross that Talisca headed into the visitors' goal.
Brozovic sealed Al Nassr's 4-2 victory thanks to his goal in the 97th minute. Receiving Ronaldo's short pass, Brozovic shot from outside the penalty area which made the ball nestled in the corner of the goal.
Al Nassr made it to the Champions League group stage following two other Saudi Arabian clubs, Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
