And it is true, Francesco Bagnaia Ducati Lenovo rider was defeated by Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) in the British MotoGP at Silverstone Circuit, Sunday (08/06/2023) yesterday.
Bagnaia was the only runner up
Bagnaia came out as runner-up with a time difference of 0.215 seconds from Espargaro. He is also only 0.475s ahead of another tough competitor Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).
"We started with the soft tire. Then it started raining and I didn't understand how much I could push any further. I was quite scared in some parts of the track because it was too wet. I tried to control everything and stay ahead, but I saw that Aleix was faster on traction and I lost time in acceleration.

Although the driver who is familiarly called Pecco had led on lap 2, the lead was still not enough to beat his nearest rival.
The rain in the last few laps made the situation more complicated, as Pecco, who was trying to maintain the lead, was eventually passed by Espargaro at several corners before the flag flew.
"I tried everything, but it wasn't enough. Nevertheless, I am happy with the result and with a good weekend."
In addition, his teammate Enea Bastianini again had an unsatisfactory race. He was then forced to withdraw on lap 17 after making contact with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda).
The tenth round of the 2023 MotoGP will be held at Austria's Red Bull Ring in the coming two weeks.
