Canadian child rapper Lil Tay dies at 14

Sad news came from the entertainment world, Lil Tay child rapper from Canada died at the age of 14 years. In a statement uploaded Wednesday (9/8/2023), his family also said that Lil Tay's older brother also passed away.

As reported by Sky News, the rapper whose real name is Claire Hope is famous for often showing off his wealth on social media.

Lil Tay is the Youngest Flexer of the Century

Lil Tay often takes pictures with luxury cars and piles of money. He was 9 years old when he appeared in a video calling himself "the youngest flexer of the century."

Flexers are people who like to show off something.

Lil Tay also often says rudely and calls his haters "poor."

Jason Tian, who was said to have helped his younger brother produce the video, also died at the age of 21.

Lil Tay and Jason's family did not reveal how the brothers died.

The statement said only that their deaths were under investigation.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of Claire's sudden and tragic passing," the family wrote on Lil Tay's Instagram account.

"We are speechless to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain."

"This was completely unexpected, and made us all surprised."

"Her brother's passing adds to the unimaginable depth of our grief."

"During this time of heavy sadness, we respectfully ask for privacy as we grieve, as the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Claire and her brother remain under investigation."

In an interview with ABC News' Good Morning America in 2018, Lil Tay denied claims that he was influenced by his family to make the video.

He claimed to enjoy what he did.

Lil Tay's mother, Angela Tian, a Vancouver estate agent, reportedly once said that she never expected her daughter and son to gain widespread popularity.

Tian defended the video and said that it was a comedy but many people didn't understand it.

Before posting the announcement of his death, there had been no posts on Lil Tay's Instagram account since 2018.

She is at the center of a custody battle between her parents, according to Variety.
