Funeral ceremonies are performed in Islamic religious manners

The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer died on July 26 and was laid to rest in a private funeral in his hometown.

The funeral, which took place in Islamic religious manners, was attended by Michael D. Higgins, president of Ireland, and his fellow musicians, Bob Geldof, Bono, and The Edge.

In 2018, Sinead decided to embrace Islam and changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat.

Sheikh Umar Al-Qadri of the Islamic Centre of Ireland delivered his speech during the funeral service.

"The more he sang and talked about his own pain, as well as about the sins pervasive in the society he witnessed, the more his voice and words resonated with listeners and touched their hearts," Umar said.

"Sinead never stopped her quest to know God fully, exemplifying a life marked by a deep bond with God," he said.
