Novak Djokovic wins US Open 2023, wins 24th Grand Slam title after defeating Daniil Medvedev
Novak Djokovic won the 2023 US Open, claiming his 24th Grand Slam title after defeating Daniil Medvedev. She also equaled Margaret Court's record.

Djokovic put in a convincing performance against Daniil Medvedev in the final at Arthur Ashe, New York. The Serbian defeated his Russian opponent 6-3, 7-6(7-5), 6-3.
Novak Djokovic becomes first player to win 24 Grand Slam titles
Djokovic is now one grand slam singles title ahead of Serena Williams. He became the first player to win 24 grand slam titles in the Open era, which began in 1968. Margaret Court also amassed a total of 24, but 13 of those came before the Open era, which included professional tennis players.
Medvedev's defeat gave him his fourth US Open title in 10 finals. He also avenged his loss to Medvedev in the 2021 US Open final.

In the meeting in the grand slam final, Djokovic is now ahead of Medvedev with a score of 2-1. He also defeated his opponent in the final of the 2021 Australian Open.
The 2023 US Open title has led Djokovic to three grand slam titles so far this year. He also won the Australian Open and French Open. He only lost in the Wimbledon final, to Carlos Alcaraz.
The success of winning the 2023 US Open gave Djokovic double success. The 36-year-old has also been confirmed to return to world number one this week, unseating Carlos Alcaraz whom he beat last week in the final of the Cincinnati Masters.
For Daniil Medvedev, who is ranked third in the world, this result means he has failed to add to his grand slam title. He has so far won only one title, out of five finals, when he beat Djokovic at the 2021 US Open.
