Taking information from Kompas.com, "Wayang Jogja Night Carnival (WJNC) is ready to be held to attract more tourists visiting Yogyakarta while preserving the art of puppet culture."
WJNC was initiated by the Yogyakarta City Government and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.
Even the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, Sandiaga Uno said that his party continued to support the event.
"We continue to support it because if you look at the tourism ecosystem and creative economy in Yogyakarta, there has been a lot of post-pandemic progress," said M Sandiaga Uno.
Collaboration Performance
The eighth edition of WJNC is part of 110 Kharisma Event Nusantara, which presents a street carnival with the concept of street art.
The event will incorporate puppet characters and plays, plus performances involving choreography, fashion, and contemporary music.

The theme raised in WJNC 2023 is "Pandava Mahabiseka", a philosophy of wise leadership and expressing joy in gratitude to God.

In organizing this year's WJNC, there will be a special stand as a form of appreciation. By the Event Committee, 400 paid seats are provided which are expected to provide a sense of security and comfort for tourists who watch WJNC instructions.
Different from previous years, this time there are two starting points, namely on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro. The finishing point is on Jalan Margo Utomo.
