The Red and White Flag raising ceremony was led by Bali Safari Operations Manager Ketut Suardana as the supervisor of the ceremony.

"We want to show the presence of animals during the Independence Day ceremony that humans live in harmony with animals," said Bali Safari Marketing Head, Inneke Ficianirum in Gianyar, Bali, Thursday (17/8/2023), as quoted from Antara.

The ceremony was held before Bali Safari operating hours, which is at 09.00 WITA to ensure that tourist visits continue normally.

To keep calm, animals are guarded by handlers. For example, elephants are given food in the form of coconut fronds throughout the ceremony. While the python is wrapped around the body of the handler to keep calm and the goat is hooked by a rope.
