Taking information from Kompas.com, hundreds of tourists and the public followed and saw the flag ceremony in the middle of the sea at Baron Beach, Yogyakarta on Thursday (17/8/2023).

The ceremony held by Satlinmas Rescue Special Operation Area II Pantai Baron was a success despite the high sea waves.

"It turned out to be exciting, coincidentally today is a vacation to the beach in Gunungkidul," said one of the tourists from Yogyakarta City, Ito, at Baron Beach, Thursday (17/8/2023).

He admired the officers from Satlinmas Rescue Special who were able to brave high waves. "I saw earlier the one waving the flag, even though the waves were high," he continued.

Besides Ito, there was also Kurniawan who saw the flag ceremony at Baron Beach. This tourist from Sukoharjo said that he had twice come to Baron Beach to witness that moment. 

"Back in 2019 before the pandemic, I was here. Coincidentally, today is also a holiday, and want to eat seafood (processed seafood). Everyone sees the ceremony," Kurniawan said.

At the same time, another tourist named Heri said, he deliberately came to Baron Beach to see the ceremony.  

"It rained before, it's still desperate because it's only once a year," said Heri, who comes from Wonosari City.

The flag ceremony at Baron Beach began at around 10.00 WIB, with Kasatpol PP DIY Noviar Rahmat as the Inspector of Ceremonies.
