Fires that occurred in the area of Mount Bromo on the south side, parts of Bantengan and Savannah a few days ago, made Mount Bromo closed. Now Mount Bromo through Malang and Lumajang is open again after the fire can be extinguished.

Therefore, the entrance to the caldera of Mount Bromo via the south (Jemplang T-junction) was also reopened.

Bromo fire again

Although the fire on the south side of Mount Bromo has been extinguished, it does not mean that the fire is over.

Kompas.com, Sunday (3/9/2023) reported that there were not 24 hours after it was extinguished, a fire broke out again in the Mount Bromo area. This time, a fire engulfed the Penanjakan section.

As a result, the entrance to the Bromo sand sea via Penanjakan (Pasuruan Regency) is temporarily closed on Sunday (3/9/2023) starting at 18.00 WIB.

Several panoramic spots were also closed due to the fire, namely Bukit Cinta, Bukit Kedaluh, and Penanjakan.

Tourists can still enter Bromo from Cemara Lawang (Probolinggo), Senduro (Lumajang), and Coban Trisula (Malang Regency) with panoramic spots from Mentigen, the sea of sand, and Teletubbies Hill.
